Who Will You Remember?

Wreaths of artificial poppies used as a symbol...

Squid Angel AJ tweeted a lens that when I read it made my heart break and the tears flow freely; Remembrance Day. It speaks to the heart about the history of Remembrance Day and Veterans Day coming up on November 11th. I learned quite a bit about it and then too about the significance of poppies. I will never again see them the same way. I think you will find something to remember too if you just look around.

As I read this lens I wondered silently how many of our children, fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters and friends will we be remembering next Remembrance / Veterans Day?

Although they did not die in military action, I will be fondly remembering both my father and brother, both of whom passed away too, too soon.

This was my second visit to AJ's beautifully poignant lens.

          Holley,

Such an excellent way to highlight a special lens and an important holiday. I will be remembering my grandfather who did not die in action but served willingly and valiantly for four years in WWII on a battle cruiser in Japan and my brother-in-law who felt such a call to duty that after one stint in Iraq, he was impatient to return for his second tour and returned home earlier this year.
